Feast & Formation Series
This fall, we’re launching Feast & Formation, a series of classes that will take place after worship, combining learning together and a potluck meal. We believe something sacred happens when we both learn and eat together, and so our hope is that this rhythm will nurture us both body and soul.

Ministry & Mission Evaluation Summary
This past season, we invited our church family to participate in a ministry and mission survey—a chance to honestly reflect, celebrate, and discern together. Out of about 100 people who regularly walk with us at Harbor, 25 responded. While that number is modest, each voice carried the weight of love, hope, and a shared desire to see our church flourish. We see this as a snapshot rather than the full picture. A small but meaningful window into the heart of our community.

New Vestry Members & Congregational Meeting
The Parish Council has begun preparing for our annual parish meeting, which will be held on Sunday in November (exact date TBD). This gathering is an important moment in the life of our church—a time to reflect on the Lord’s faithfulness, attend to the practical matters of our shared life, and look forward together with hope and purpose.

Rector’s Letter | September 2025
I’m looking forward to being back with you this Sunday! The Bedell family has missed the saints of Harbor Anglican.
As summer turns to fall, the Parish Council and I are excited for the season ahead. Over the next week, you’ll hear more about our Harbor Groups, updates on ministry opportunities, plans for the Annual Congregational Meeting and the process for nominating and electing new vestry members.

Faith & Vocation: Ruth Rogers Lewis
Based on a Barna study only 45% of monthly church-goers say they felt a strong sense of support in their career from their church. At Harbor Anglican we want to see that change. As part of a year long project focused on faith and vocation we are highlighting various parishioners by having them answer seven questions.

Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network
With so many immigrants and refugees in our communities (and an overwhelming number of them Christians), it’s deeply concerning how many are being deported without due process—especially those who are here legally. To care for our brothers and sisters of different tongues, we’d like to draw your attention to Washington Immigrant Solidarity (WAISN), the largest immigrant justice group in Washington. It fights for the rights of immigrants and refugees statewide.

Introducing Heritage Mission: Bringing the church to care facilities
In the OT we see that God has a particular heart for what Nicholas Wolterstorff calls "the quartet of the vulnerable": the sojourner, the fatherless, the widow, the poor. Heritage’s director, the Rev. Mike Niebauer, reminded me and the Parish Council recently that one of the most overlooked demographics in our country lives right under our noses, yet many of us will never see them unless we go to them. The elderly in our care facilities are the widows and widowers, many of whom will die alone and forgotten. Tragically, the American church has forgotten about a demographic that God has particular affection towards.
