Joining Sunday | Jesus With Thy Church Abide

On Sunday, November 2nd, we will gather for a joyful moment in the life of our parish—Joining Sunday—as we welcome new members into the life and fellowship of Harbor Anglican.

Membership in the Church is never merely administrative; it’s deeply relational and profoundly spiritual. It’s about saying yes—yes to God’s call, yes to His people, and yes to participating in His ongoing work of renewal in the world through the Body of Christ.

If you’ve recently participated in our Harbor Foundations Class, I encourage you to take time to review the New Members Packet. Inside, you’ll find an overview of the membership journey, our Anglican story and identity, and what it means to live together as the family of God here at Harbor Anglican. The hymn printed at the start of this packet—“Jesus, with Thy Church Abide” — long been our prayer — reminds us that this is not our project, but His Church. We depend entirely on His presence, His Word, and His Spirit.

Our hope and prayer in this process is that you would catch a glimpse of something larger than yourself—the beauty of belonging deeply to Christ and to His Church. Through the story of God’s faithfulness, both across time and here among us, may you see that the Church is not built on our effort or enthusiasm, but on the unshakable foundation of Jesus Christ Himself. He is our cornerstone, our reason for gathering, and our hope for renewal.

Whether you are joining officially or standing to affirm others as they do, this is a day for the whole family—a reminder that, by God’s grace, we truly belong to one another in Him.
