Rector’s Letter | September 2025

Dear Harbor Anglican,

I’m looking forward to being back with you this Sunday! The Bedell family has missed the saints of Harbor Anglican.

As summer turns to fall, the Parish Council and I are excited for the season ahead. Over the next week, you’ll hear more about our Harbor Groups, updates on ministry opportunities, plans for the Annual Congregational Meeting and the process for nominating and electing new vestry members. In the meantime, I want to share two important opportunities:

Harbor Foundations Class | Sunday, October 12

If you're exploring Harbor—or considering membership—we warmly invite you to join us for this class. It’s required for those pursuing membership and will offer a deeper look at who we are, what we believe, and how we live out our mission together.

Confirmation Classes | Beginning Sunday, October 26 (tentative)

These four classes will meet after worship about once or twice a month and are required for those seeking confirmation. We’ll cover Anglican theology, history, and ecclesiology, and how our global heritage shapes life at Harbor.

Why Membership and Confirmation Matter

At Harbor, we see membership and confirmation as sacred and joyful commitments. To belong here is to step into an unfolding story of God’s faithfulness—to His Church and to this community. Our hope is that these classes deepen your faith and clarify what it means to share in Christ and His ministry as a church family.

They’ll provide:

  • A deep dive into Harbor’s mission, vision, and values

  • An overview of Anglican identity and global fellowship

  • An honest look at where we’ve been, where we are, and where we sense God is leading us

Next Steps

If you’re hoping to be confirmed or to become a member in time for the Annual Meeting, here’s what to do:

  1. Fill out a Connect Card so we have your information

  2. Email me to express your interest in membership or confirmation

  3. Schedule a pastoral conversation if we haven’t met—I'd love to hear your story, answer questions, and help discern next steps

Life Together

Membership and confirmation mean more than just a name on a list. They mean being known, serving others, and giving back from what God has given you. As you take this next step, we encourage you to:

  • Join a Harbor Group

  • Find a place to serve

  • Begin a regular rhythm of giving

Whether you’re new to Harbor or have been with us for a while, this is a meaningful moment to go deeper. I’d be honored to walk with you.

In Christ,

Casey+
