Attention, Givers! We’re Switching Giving Platforms
As some of you may know, our current online giving system is called Subsplash. On May 26, we will transition to a new online giving system called Planning Center Giving.
The reason we’re switching is for lower fees and simpler maintenance for church staff. Below is a letter from our Treasurer with additional details and answers to frequently asked questions.
Dear Harbor community,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I'm writing to you to announce our parish's transition to a new online giving system called Planning Center Giving. The old system is called Subsplash. The reason we’re switching is lower fees and simplified maintenance for church staff.
On May 26, we will update links on the website and our church app to point to the new giving page. We will continue to accept gifts through our old system until August 15.
Below we’ve included a list of commonly asked questions. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out!
Best regards,
Dave Bettis

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Log into the Church Center app, make sure Harbor Anglican is selected as your primary church, and tap on the Giving (New) button at the bottom to set up recurring giving with Planning Center Giving. Don’t forget to cancel any other automated payments you had set up through Subsplash or Zelle. You can also access our new Planning Center Giving page here.
-
We will start to use Planning Center Giving to record your giving, even if you give by check/cash/Zelle. You will be able to see a summary of your giving at any time via the website or app (tap on Giving at the bottom and select Payment History). This information will only be available to you and the church finance team.

Planning Center Giving charges 30 cents for each bank transfer, while Subsplash charged 1%. To give a $500 gift via direct bank transfer in Subsplash would cost $5, but with Planning Center Giving, it's less than the price of a stamp. Credit card transactions are also cheaper in the new system (2.19% vs. 2.99%), but they're still high.

Yes. Planning Center offers a suite of different tools for churches, including an option for online giving, which we haven't used until now. Planning Center Giving has bank-grade security to process donations. Learn more at https://www.planningcenter.com/security

We will continue to accept donations by check and/or cash on Sunday in the offering plate in the back. We also accept checks via mail.
